Lilly squeaked, almost instantly shrinking back out the door and wincing as her thick braid smacked against it with an embarrassingly loud thud. "I'm sorry, I thought the room was em... um. No-one's supposed to be here this late, you know. Shouldn't you be in the dorms?"
The boy blinked at her slowly, and she wondered if she'd been overly rude to just about go 'what are YOU doing here'.

Safe harbourMore than half the middle of the night, and Lilly still hadn't managed to fall asleep. It wasn't nerves, not a bit of it. Rather she was busily playing the day's events over in her head, as if cementing them as truth before her second thoughts began to make her doubt herself.

It all seemed perfectly true, she thought, smiling giddly as she hugged her stomach, already showing the signs of the little escapade that had led to this. NervesIt was his third cigarette of the day already finished, and it hadn't seemed to help in the least. Sighing, Canna pressed his eyes shut and pinched the bridge of his beak, willing them to clear up as the other hand nervously started to spin the pencil. It was already so late, but he didn't want to leave with anything unfinished. You never knew when things might get checked up on.

He didn't even have to look up to know the shorter drake had come into the room. His highly strung nerves did that for him as they jammed his fingers, sending the pencil shooting off into some corner with an embarrassingly loud clatter.

I like this better than a normal Xmas tree. A tree of learning! Also seems less wasteful.

Btw I do love the ornament at the top. An increasingly large proportion of my Christmas tree ornaments are Mickey-themed, since I like to get new ones every time I go to WDW, regardless of the time of year.

I need more book trees, though.

Probably not a consolation particularly, but I never feel like I've been enough... I've been four times in the past uh, 8 years I guess, and I'm ALWAYS itchy to go again. So maybe you're better off.
