We're like two lego bricks, you and I
A six-dot and a four, or a four and a six
So one goes over the other's head sometimes
And we don't ever connect perfectly
But it's grand when we do.

We have friends of our own, a lot like us
And we connect with them in every way
We may not fit flush, but we're special
Even if we get under people's feet at times
And we always had potential together
To make a house, or a car, or a life.

In the same comfy box all these years, you and I
Growing old and dusty, with a bright clean line
Where some great hand put us together
And never pulled us apart.

I don't even know. I suddenly realised that 'lego bricks' was in the list of options a few moments ago and I just had to do it.

What a nice metaphor and so beautifully expanded. :)
